These are the terms for using BJJ Journal. They’re short because the app is simple: you keep a training journal, and we keep it running.
The service
BJJ Journal is a personal training journal for Brazilian jiu-jitsu — session logging, competition records, promotions, stats, and photos. It’s provided as-is, maintained by a small team (of approximately one), and we’ll do our honest best to keep it available and working.
Your account
You need an account to use the app, and you’re responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. BJJ Journal is intended for people 18 and over — by using it, you confirm you’re at least 18. One account per person; don’t share credentials.
Your content
Everything you put in your journal is yours. Your notes, photos, and records belong to you. By using the app you give us permission to store and process that content — solely to run the service for you, nothing else. We don’t claim ownership, we don’t use your content for anything beyond operating the app, and you can export it or delete it entirely, any time, yourself.
What’s free
Session logging and full data export are free, and we intend to keep them that way. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, pricing and terms will be shown clearly before you’re charged, and nothing you’ve already entered will ever be held behind a paywall.
Acceptable use
Use the app for its purpose. Don’t attempt to access other users’ data, disrupt the service, reverse-engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. We can suspend or terminate accounts that do — though in practice, this is a jiu-jitsu journal, and we’d rather never think about this section again.
Ending things
You can delete your account any time from your Profile — it’s immediate, complete, and irreversible, and we recommend exporting first. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, in which case you’ll have the chance to export your data before anything goes away.
The legal paragraph
The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the past twelve months (which, at present, is zero).
Changes
If these terms change meaningfully, the date above changes and we’ll say so plainly rather than burying it.
